On the third day of the first lunar month every year, the board of directors of the ancestral temple holds a ceremony with the theme of "New year, New year, New year and Peace" held in the Tianhou Hall on the southern axis. Believers at home and abroad follow the ancient system, burn high incense, pray for five blessings, and praise Mazu.

The Lantern Festival in Meizhou Island lasts 11 days from the eighth day of the first lunar month to the eighteenth day of the first lunar month. During this period, 14 Mazu temples on the island patrolled Anbufu, especially the ancestral temple Mazu Jinshengluan back to its birthplace (Dongcai Village, Meizhou), which attracted tens of thousands of believers at home and abroad every year.

"Mazu all over the world returns to his mother's home" means that every year, especially in March of the lunar calendar, Mazu temples from all over the world form groups one after another to honor Mazu's return to Meizhou to trace their roots and visit their ancestors and incense. The largest team has more than 5000 teams, the number of people is huge, and the incense is so prosperous that it has become one of the most beautiful scenery in Meizhou's Mazu cultural activities.

Every year on the first day of the third month of the lunar calendar, the ancestral temple raises flags and red lights in Sacred Gate Square, and holds a temple fair launching ceremony to announce the beginning of a series of activities on Mazu's birthday to Mazu believers around the world. During this period, Mazu temples all over the world organized believers to return to Meizhou ancestral Temple to visit their ancestors and offer incense to participate in the grand event to celebrate Mazu's birthday.

Every year, March 23 of the lunar calendar is the anniversary of Mazu's birthday, and the spring ceremony for Mazu is held in Tian Hou Square as scheduled. Tens of thousands of Mazu believers from home and abroad gathered at the ancestral temple to pay homage to Mazu. In the 59th year of Kangxi, the sacrifice ceremony of Mazu in Meizhou was included in the national ceremony; during the Yongzheng period, the worship of Mazu in Meizhou all over the world was followed by three kneeling and nine kowtowing ceremonies; in the 53 year of Qianlong, the imperial court ordered Mazu to enjoy two sacrifices in the Spring and Autumn period. Mazu ceremony, Confucius ceremony and Huangdi ceremony are also known as the three major Chinese rituals.

The ninth day of the ninth lunar month is the anniversary of Mazu's feathering and ascension. On this day, Mazu believers from all over the world gathered in Meizhou Island to participate in the sea festival held by the ancestral temple on the "sea sacrifice boat". Sacrificial activities are not only for people to remember Mazu, but also for fishermen to pray for safety at sea and to express their feelings for protecting the marine ecology at the same time.

The Taiwan Strait Forum is an important platform for people-to-people exchanges between the two sides of the strait. Mazu Cultural activity week is an important sub-activity of the Taiwan Strait Forum. As the birthplace of Mazu culture and the spiritual hometown of Taiwan's Mazu worshippers, Meizhou Island vigorously promotes Mazu culture, makes every effort to protect, build and develop Meizhou Island, and actively builds the core area of Mazu cultural center. we will make every effort to create a happy home for compatriots on both sides of the strait. China Meizhou Mazu Culture and Tourism Festival, founded in 1994, has become an important platform for foreign cultural exchanges and cooperation in Meizhou Island. In 2016, the first World Mazu Culture Forum was held in Meizhou Island, the hometown of Mazu. With the theme of "Mazu Culture Hayes Spirit people-to-people Exchange", the forum aims to carry forward the Mazu spirit of "virtue, charity, and great love", promote the spread and development of Mazu culture around the world, demonstrate China's sincere desire for win-win peace, development and cooperation, and promote economic, trade and cultural exchanges and cooperation among countries and regions along the "Belt and Road Initiative" route.

On the basis of inheriting the folk cultural activities of Mazu around Meizhou, Meizhou ancestral Temple has taken the initiative to act from 2017. Every year, when the new calendar bid farewell to the new year and welcome the new year, the board of directors of the ancestral temple holds New year's blessing activities in the main hall. When the New year's bell rings, the ancestral temple lanterns are bright, fireworks are blooming, and firecrackers are shocking. The people who took part in the event smiled like flowers, paid homage to Mazu, prayed for a happy place, prayed for good weather in the New year, and made their dreams come true!

To worship Mazu in the morning is to inherit the traditional culture and create a solemn worship atmosphere in the temple, with the content of reciting the True Sutra of the Lady of Heaven in Meizhou, leading Mazu to be good and faithful, to wash his hands and pick up incense, and to pray for blessings and peace. The ceremony will be held at 6:36 every morning in summer (16 April-15 October) at 7:06 every morning in winter (16 October-15 April next year) at the Tien Hou Hall on the southern axis for about half an hour and is open to all believers.
